New Product Launch - Rainbow Produce Bags!

Hello Everyone

There is no need to use plastic bags when you do your weekly food shopping any more - Rainbow Produce Bags are here! I am happy to announce that, along with selling the Punk Clown Range, Rainbow Produce Bags will be launched at my stall at Glebe Markets on August 28th.

In line with the environmentally friendly theme of the business, this time I have created something to replace those small plastic produce bags that many of us still end up bringing back from grocery shopping in our environmentally friendly tote bag when we forget to take our recycled plastic bags. With your Rainbow Produce Bags packed inside your tote bag, always at the ready in your handbag, bicycle basket or car, you can now be totally plastic free when you do the weekly shopping!

The bags are made from a range of gorgeously coloured polyester mesh. They are double-stitched and sturdy, have a strong drawstring that closes from both ends making them easy to open and close (no more fighting to open the bag!), machine washable and easily reused, see through so that the cashier knows what to ring up, lightweight so not adding to the scales, suitable for fruit, vegetables and dry foods (rice, grains, beans etc) and there are endless other uses - holding, storing and washing things!

The bags come in a range of colours - purple, mauve, light blue, teal green, mint green and black. They come in three sizes, small (14x23cm - holds other bags, a couple of tomatoes or kiwi fruit), medium (20x30cm - 8 oranges or apples, lentils) and large (27x34cm - greens, carrots, rice).

They can be bought individually or in sets. Special pre-launch prices are: small - $5, medium - $7, large - $9. The set of 3 (1 small, 1 medium, 1 large) is $20. The set of 4 (1 small, 1 medium, 2 large) is $25. Beautifully packaged in the small black polka dot bag, they make a perfect present for an eco-conscious friend. The prices at the launch will be $6 small, $7 small polka dot, $8 medium, $10 large, set of 3 $22, set of 4 $30.

A big thank you to the ever wonderful Lesley Knapp for her creative and business input in helping to develop this product.

I had hoped to find a more sustainable material to make the bags with but polyester mesh was the best option I have been able to source for now. The good thing about the polyester is that its production process, in relation to other mesh materials, is quite clean and the recycling of polyester, although not widespread yet, does happen. And Rainbow Produce Bags have been made to last so there are a lot less plastic bags being used when these are used instead. The quest to find the perfect sustainable material continues though so watch this space!

If you like what you see and would like to buy Rainbow Produce Bags (and take advantage of the pre-launch prices!) but can't make it to Glebe Markets, please email me at leerickwood@y7mail.com.au or call 0405 075 022.

Hope to see you at Glebe on Saturday 28th August!
Lee
